I really meant to write a blog about Easter on Easter. As you can see, that didn't happen... better late than never, right?

We had a fabulous Easter filled with lots of fun activities. A few days before Easter we dyed eggs -- a first for Michael and Liliana. They had a blast choosing the colors they wanted, dipping the eggs, and then decorating them afterwards. Truth be told, all Liliana cared about was eating them. She couldn't wait to eat her "eggies" as she so lovingly calls them. :)

On Saturday our neighborhood had an Easter Egg hunt. There were 30 kids at the hunt. And 1500 eggs. Oh. My. Goodness. The kids had a blast, though. And, luckily, there was only 1 piece of candy in each egg so it wasn't too much of a candy overload.

On Easter Sunday, the kids were excited to search for 60 more eggs around the house (okay, maybe
I went a
little overboard this time...). They also had Easter baskets and a few gifts. We got Michael a shaving kit for the bathtub and a hula hoop and we got Liliana a skateboard. After trying out the new toys, we had lunch with family. It was a fun, relaxing day.

Of course, the best part about Easter is the amazing story of Jesus' death and resurrection. About a week before Easter I asked Michael what Easter was all about. At first he said, "We get lots of candy and look for Easter eggs." I was impressed that he remembered that from last year! Then I asked, "But what is Easter
really about? What did Jesus do for us?" And, much to my surprise and delight, without hesitation he said, "Jesus died for all the children and then he was alive again." Very good, son, very good. It was one of those "proud Mama" moments. He is such an incredible boy!
Here are a few more pics from Easter weekend!
