All Stars
I don't think there is a sport that Michael doesn't love. And, fortunately for him, he is pretty darn good at almost every sport he tries. He is a very determined little boy. Let's all remember that he practically taught himself to ride a bike without training wheels when he was 3 - 1/2!
Since September, Michael has been taking dance classes (ballet and tap). At first he didn't really enjoy going (probably because he is the only boy in his class). Now, he loves going, but he has told me multiple times that he does not want to do dance again next year. He wants to play hockey (Oh. Dear.) Matt and I decided a long time ago that we would only let the kids do one sport or activity at a time. And he is choosing hockey for the fall.
Liliana, on the other hand, hasn't really expressed much interest in sports unless her brother is playing it OR there is some way to bug him while he is playing. However, she does love (and I mean love) gymnastics. The girl can do a headstand for minutes! She's incredibly talented and absolutely loves going to gymnastics class each week. She has mentioned on several occasions that she wants to do dance next year. But, I am guessing when the time comes to sign up, she'll choose gymnastics over dance.
Michael has been extremely motivated to also be able to rock a headstand like Liliana. Matt and I would have to hold our laughter in as Michael attempted (and failed) many headstands while Liliana would say, "No, Michael, like this..." and proceed to give him step-by-step instructions on how to hold himself in a headstand. He did finally master the headstand and is now teaching himself to walk on his hands. :)
Both Michael and Liliana are going to start swimming lessons in a week. They are super excited and so are we! Both kids have no fear in the water. We figured it's time for them to learn how to swim so we don't have to worry anymore when they jump into the pool!
