Amazed

To say that I am amazed at God's faithfulness would be an understatement.  In the last 6 days we have taken two huge steps toward bringing the twins home.  Last Wednesday we got an email from the adoption agency letting us know the twins have their new birth certificates.  Recently, getting new birth certificates has been taking four weeks.  Ours were issued after one week.  Incredible.  Today we found out the kids have their Ethiopian passports.  This only took one week instead of two.  We are blown away by how fast things are going.  It seems that now that the balls is rolling, it continues to pick up speed with each step accomplished.  Praise God!

The next step is for the twins to have medical exams at the Embassy.  Between scheduling the exam, seeing the doctor, and the doctor writing up the report, it takes at least 3 weeks to be completed.  In the meantime, the agency in Ethiopia is applying for one more approval letter from the Ministry of Women's Affairs (MOWA) in Ethiopia.  Once the agency has this last MOWA letter and medical report, we can be submitted to the US Embassy in Ethiopia for approval to bring the twins home.  It usually takes two weeks for the Embassy to review the case and interview any living birth relatives (in our case, the birth mom).

So, best case scenario (according to the estimated wait times we were given by the agency) we should be able to travel in 5-6 weeks.  We are praying (and we covet your prayers!) that the paperwork continues to be completed without error and more quickly than the estimated time lines.  We are also praying for peace and comfort for the twins as they move from their home in Harar (they've been at the care center there since they were 2 months old) to the care center in Addis Ababa.  We would love for you to also be praying for them during this transition period.  Thank you so much for your continued support, love, and prayers for Sammy, Sadie, and the adoption process.

A friend of mine gave me this verse today and I absolutely love it.  We are praying this verse over our twins and our family.
"The LORD will fight for you; you need only be still" -- Exodus 14:14
