Emailed Adoption Update #4 (March 11, 2010)

Hello Friends and Family,

As many of you already know, our kids passed court yesterday. This means that we are officially parents of 2 children! Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We were thrilled to get the good news.

Along with this good news, we found out that the US Embassy in Ethiopia has lifted the mandatory 8 week wait before you can pick up your kids that they put in place a couple of weeks ago. So, now we are preparing to be in Ethiopia for an Embassy date of April 8. That is likely the earliest we would need to be there. We are feeling quite overwhelmed at the idea of getting everything ready in 3 short weeks when we originally had about 9 weeks to prepare.

Please continue to pray for us! Here are a few prayer requests:
· Pray that God would be preparing Michael and Liliana to become a part of our family and that they would attach to us quickly
· Pray for Matt and me - that we would get everything done in time and that God would be preparing us to be the parents that Michael and Liliana need
· Pray for our finances - with leaving around 6 weeks earlier than we originally thought, we have to get all our money together quicker than we thought. We believe that God will provide - please pray with us as we trust Him for everything we need.

If you are not on Facebook and haven't seen the pictures of our kids, please email me and let me know. I can send you a few. We are hoping to get more pictures early next week from another family that is in Ethiopia right now. They took a care package to Ethiopia for our kids and were going to try and get some pictures of them. The care package included some picture of us and we are praying that those pictures bring comfort and reassurance to our kids. And familiarity for when we pick them up!


We are so excited to meet our kids in a few short weeks! The agency will be filing us for an Embassy date on either March 18 or March 25. At that point we will know when we need to be in Ethiopia. We will keep you all updated as we know more.
