It has been an adventurous last few days. On Thursday we had a lazy morning before heading out to Dire Dawa. When we got to the airport, the ticket agent said we did not have a reservation for our flight to Dire Dawa on Thursday or our flight back to Addis today. We showed her our reservation sheet and she said that the reservation was made, but the seats were never booked. They only had one seat on the flight left. After much discussion with the ticketing agent and some of her colleagues, they were able to get us on our flight.
After we landed in Dire Dawa and got our luggage, we went out to meet our driver. But, alas, he wasn't there. We ended up waiting for about an hour before he showed up. Talk about a crazy way to start the trip to meet the kids!
Thursday night we went for a tour of Dire Dawa and then headed to bed. We were so tired from traveling. We didn't get a very good nights rest, though, because our bodies were still on Minnesota time.
Friday morning we headed to Harar to meet the twins. It was a gorgeous one hour drive to Harar. It was so incredible to see the countryside. We arrived in Harar for the moment we'd been waiting for six months to happen and it was incredible. The twins are so cute, so little, so precious.
There is a lot to say about our sweet twins, but I will save the details of our visit until we get home when we can post pictures as well.
Tomorrow is court at 2:00 Ethiopian time (6:00 AM Minnesota time). Then we start our travel home Monday night. We are very excited to see Michael and Liliana and share all about our twins. They are perfect. And we already love them so much.
Blessings,
Becca and Matt
