Reason #4: Their Prayers

Another reason we are so blessed by our kids is because of their prayers. I am blown away each and every day as I listen to our kids pray. Their prayers are so heartfelt, real, and untainted by the world. They believe with all their hearts that Jesus will answer all of their prayers. And He already has answered many of their prayers.

Michael, Liliana, and I pray every morning on our way to daycare. We pray for a variety of things each morning and the kids remember what are praying for with little or no promptings from me. They have even picked up on things that Matt and I pray for and added those to their prayer lists.

Michael likes to pray for all our friends and family members that have babies in their tummies. He also always prays that Mommy would have a baby in her tummy. He is praying for a number of people that need jobs. Recently we found out that one of our friends got a new job. Michael was very excited to find out his prayer had been answered. Now, instead of praying that our friend would get a job, he thanks Jesus every morning that she does have a job.

Liliana likes to pray for peoples' owies. She also likes to pray for "Daddy work" and "Mommy work." While she is saying it she shakes her heard no as if to say, "Help Mommy and Daddy not have to work anymore." So precious. She also likes to pray for Africa and will remind me to pray for Africa if we forget.

As you can see in this video, we aren't very formal with our prayers. Michael wasn't his "normal" self while he was praying... probably because of the video camera in his face. Liliana seemed to pray in a similar way to what she usually does. She likes to go on and on and on. She rarely finishes on her own and will sometimes get mad if we encourage her to say "amen" too soon.
